All-time winningest female tournament player Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst has won the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $25,000 high roller no-limit hold’em event, earning $1,424,420 and as a result overtook Kathy Liebert to become the all-time winningest female poker player in the history of live tournaments with $6,996,315 in lifetime earnings. In addition to the money and the title, Selbst also scored 1,260 Card Player Player of the Year points, moving into fourth in the POY overall standings.

This event drew a record turnout of 204 entries, building a prize pool of $4,998,000. After two long days of play, Shaun Deeb entered the final table as the chip leader with roughly 25 percent of the chips in play.

El Saltillo Mexican Restaurant at 3100 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs, MS: (228) 875-1981 is the best Mexican food in the area. Inexpensive, good service, good food. There’s a bar with draft beer and margaritas. Sometimes they have a guy playing his guitar and singing. Definitely recommended.

Chef Scott’s Restaurant at 711 Washington Ave, Ocean Springs, MS: (228) 872-3544. Scott’s restaurant is a Japanese sushi bar with a Southern twist. They have a dance floor that’s open most of the night and a southern home-cooking menu.

The coldest month in Kona is February and the average high in February is 80 F while the average low is 64 F. August is the warmest month and the average high is 87 F while the average low is 69 F. Humidity is between 50% and 80%. The temperature change between night and day is greater than the temperature change between winter and summer. Mornings are typically clear while thermal clouds created in the day raises the temperature during the day.

Vog can cover parts of the Kona coast from time to time depending on the activity of the Kilauea and the island winds. Kailua is located on the leeward side of the Hualalai Volcano sheltering the town from wind and rain.

Sakura is a Japanese Steak House serving fresh sushi. They have excellent services andexcellent prices. My wife and I have ate there on several occasions and found the cooksto be entertaining and its a cozy atmosphere. All around great food for reasonable prices.

Mary Mahoney’s Old French House at 116 Rue in Magnolia, Biloxi, Mississippi a Gulf Coast Landmark. The reservation number is (228) 374-0163. In business for over 40 years in one of the oldest homes in America. They have several dining rooms available for a romantic dinner just for two or up to 100. Almost destroyed by Hurricane Katrina,
they have rebuilt and are once again open for business.

McElroy’s Harbor House Seafood Restaurant is located at 695 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, Mississippi and their reservation number is (228) 435-5001. If you are coming any where near the Gulf coast you have got to stop in at McElroys. Great seafood and reasonable prices.

Attractions in Biloxi, Mississippi

Beauvoir / Jefferson Davis Home and Presidential Library is located at 2244 Beach Boulevard in Biloxi, Mississippi and be reached at (228) 388-4400. Beauvoir and the Jefferson Davis Presidential Library suffered heavy damage from Hurricane Katrina and underwent renovations following the storm. The Library pavilion, the Hayes cottage, Soldier’s Home Barracks replica, Confederate Soldier’s Museum, Gift Shop, and director’s home were totally destroyed.
Built in 1853, this was the last home of Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederate States of America. It contains many of the furnishings from the time of Davis. This 51 acre site includes the
house, the Confederate Museum, and the cemetery of Confederate graves.

The Biloxi Lighthouse is located at U.S. Highway 90 and Porter Avenue. It stands 65ft/20m and was erected in 1848. It is thought to be the first cast-metal lighthouse in the South. Sadly the lighthouse has been closed to the public since Hurricane Katrina but its still an interesting site seeing trip.




Ohr / O’Keef Museum of Art is located at 1596 Glenn Swetman Drive in Biloxi, Mississippi and can be reached at (228) 374-5547. The Museum’s collection of Ohr pottery was undamaged during Hurricane Katrina and was removed for further safe-keeping to the vault of the Mobile Museum of Art. In addition, you can learn about the house that Pleasant Reed built providing a rare opportunity to see how an African-American family with limited means lived in Biloxi during the early twentieth century.

Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum has also been damaged by Hurricane Katrina but still operates two 65′ two-masted Biloxi Schooners which sail the MS Sound daily, all year round. They offer a 2.5 hr. sail for individuals throughout the week. The boats accommodate up to 49 passengers aboard the “Glenn L. Swetman” and 45 passengers aboard the “Mike Sekul”. The schooners are docked at the Schooner Pier Complex located at 367 Beach Blvd.

The Picasso is a French, Greek and Mediterranean restaurant located inside the Bellagio casino located at 3600 S Las Vegas Blvd in Las Vegas, Nevada. Its on the upper end of the

The best Steak House in Las Vegas is by far the Envy the Steakhouse.
It is 5 star rated and a little less expensive than the Picasso. They serve breakfast and brunch and and dinner and are located in the Renaissance Hotel at 3400 Paradise Rd Las Vegas, NV 89169. The garlic mashed potato’s are great and the bone in rib-eye was huge and perfectly cooked. You can reach them at their reservation line (702) 784-5716

The New York Pizza & Pasta is located at 2400 S Jones Blvd Ste 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
No reservation is necessary but if you need directions you can call them at (702) 871-1159.
Pizza was very authentic and cheap. Thin crust and just the right amount of toppings. Make sure to fold it. The guys who work here were probably the most friendly I’ve experienced in a NY pizzeria in a long time. We also had some pasta, but the main event was definitely the pizza.

Las Vegas Hotels

The Venetian Hotel located at 3355 Las Vegas Blvd in North Las Vegas, Nevada is a jewel in the crown of the hotels there. There reservation line is (702) 414-1000.

Many that stayed there say no other hotel in even comes close! I have to say that the rooms here are by far the most comfortable and most spacious. The sectional couch in the room is great for lounging. Anyway, I just returned from a recent trip and again was not disappointed. Staff is friendly and thank you very much for not having a Starbucks but rather a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf!

The Wynn Las Vegas is located at 3131 S Las Vegas Blvd Las Vegas, Nevada. The Wynn is truly a work of art, overlooking the strip the view is incredible. When you book your reservation at (702) 770-7100 make sure you ask for the Vegas strip side. They have floor to ceiling windows and a Cafe on the veranda overlooking the pool and breath taking waterfall.

Golden Nugget Hotel located at 129 Fremont St Las Vegas, Nevada is truly a unique experience. It is one of the oldest hotels in Vegas and not the nicest one by far but they have something the huge hotels on the Las Vegas Strip do not have, convenience. They are in the older part of town which means its more like a Main street any town USA experience. Just walk out of the hotel and within 3 blocks there are literally dozens of restaurants, cafes, gift shops and places and people to see. They are under the now famous outdoor overhead projection screen that stretches for 3 city blocks with movies and events televised over head nearly 24 hours a day. Las Vegas Attractions and Theme Parks

The Adventuredome Theme Park located on the Circus Circus Casino grounds at 2880 Las Vegas Blvd South at Las Vegas, Nevada is family fun for everyone. No reservation necessary but if you need to call the number is (702) 794-3939. This giant pink dome holds many cherished memories from the childhood of thousands of kids from all over the world. The Canyon Blaster is crazy and wild, even if it doesn’t last a long time. There’s also a really fun water ride, I can never remember the name of it though. I didn’t care too much for the Inverter but the kids loved it. It’s best to get a day pass, it’ll save more money. And you can get on rides as many times as you’d like.

The Big Shot at the top of Stratosphere Hotel at 2000 Las Vegas Blvd South in Las Vegas, Nevada is the best ride in Las Vegas. It’s on top of the stratosphere and shoots you straight up like your being launched into orbit. The first time I went on it a local News helicopter was in the vicinity and it felt like you could reach out and touch it. And oh what a view if you are able to open your eyes. Its not a theme park but its certainly worth the mention. They have a huge arcade, I know the kids love the video games. The reservation number is (702) 380-7711.

The Excalibur Hotel-Casino is pretty much entirely a Theme Park from the giant front gate to the back door. It is located at 3850 Las Vegas Blvd in Las Vegas, Nevada and the reservation number is (702) 597-7100.

“Dude, it’s a freakin’ castle in Vegas! How cool is that?” Kids from 2 to 92 love absolutely love it. My wife and I met her brother and his wife there for the Knights in King Author’s Court show. Horses and knights in full body armor fought for the right to marry the kings daughter and they seemingly held nothing back. It was authentic right down to the costumed wench waitresses’, the full hens on the plate and the lack of silverware. Writing about it now brings back so many memories. The architecture is surely different like every eclectic casino on the strip, but it’s “Disney” appearance is its main attraction.
