Daisy Fuentes has single-handedly eliminated the myth that Puerto Ricans don’t know how to play poker. They do! This former weather woman has recently begun appearing on the celebrity poker circuit.
At the age of three, Fuentes family moved to Spain and at the age of seven they moved to the United States. Her family settled in Harrison, New Jersey where she graduated High School in 1984. After attending Bergen Community College and studying journalism, Fuentes became the weather girl at a Telemundo television station. She soon was promoted an anchor for the evening news.
From 1997 through 2000 she hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos. She has also hosted Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, the 1998 World Music Awards, the 1999 Billborad Latin Awards along with the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and Miss Universe pageants. As a model, she has been the spokesperson for Pantene, Revlon, American Express and Miller Lite.
She also turned down Hugh Hefner, declining to appear in Playboy.
